Installing SQLite and importing featureless OSM data for use in QGIS

Sometimes it's beneficial to work within a database in QGIS, but it may not be very accessible for individual or non-enterprise users. Installing SQLite gives one the means to use a database without having to install a server or manage users. With SQLite you are only limited by the available memory on your computer and elementary functionality of the database.
